How to Make Hilliard UMC Your Home Page

Your Home Page is the one that comes up first when you start your browser.  It's simple to make Hilliard UMC your home page , and it insures that you'll see the latest information and happenings at HUMC as soon as they become available.

Just follow these simple steps (it may be helpful to print this page first):

First, you need to find out which browser version you are using. If you already know, choose the appropriate link below.  Otherwise, click your browser's Help menu, and select About Navigator or About Communicator or About Internet Explorer.  Depending on your browser, either a new browser window will open, or the browser will move to a new page.   Note the browser version that appears at the top of the page; for example, Netscape Communicator 4.6.  Now, either close the new browser window that opened, or use your Back button to return to this previous page.

Did It Work?

Netscape 4.xNetscape Navigator 4.0 or higher

  1. Click on the Edit menu.
  2. Choose Preferences.
  3. Under Category, click Navigator.
  4. In the Location box enter: http://www.hilliardumc.org
  5. Click OK.

Netscape 3.xNetscape Navigator 3.x or lower

  1. Click on the Options menu.
  2. Choose General Preferences.
  3. Select the Appearance tab.
  4. In the Startup section, click the Home Page Location button.
  5. Enter http://www.hilliardumc.org in the text field.
  6. Click OK.

Internet Explorer 5.xMicrosoft Internet Explorer 5.x or higher

  1. Go to http://www.hilliardumc.org
  2. Click your browser's Tool menu.
  3. Select Internet Options.
  4. Click the General tab.
  5. In the Home Page section, click Use Current.
  6. Click OK.

  1. Go to http://www.hilliardumc.org
  2. Click your browser's View menu.
  3. Select Internet Options.
  4. Click the General tab.
  5. In the Home Page section, click Use Current.
  6. Click OK.

  1. Go to http://www.hilliardumc.org
  2. Click your browser's View menu.
  3. Choose Options.
  4. Click the Navigation tab.
  5. Click Use Current.
  6. Click OK.

DID IT WORK?

If you want to make sure you were successful, click the Home button at the top of your browser to go to the Hilliard UMC Home Page. If you get there, it works! If you go somewhere else, say microsoft.com, then double-check the version of your browser and try repeating the steps above.  If that still doesn't work, then check with your favorite computer geek and see if they will help.
