Thanksgiving Outreach

We need pies!

Please bring pies to the church office anytime during normal office hours (9am-4:30pm).

Opportunities to Serve: Sign up on the insert in your Sunday worship folder.

We’re getting ready for our annual Thanksgiving Outreach on Saturday, November 19! It takes many hands to pull off the processing of 1,000 bags of groceries and sharing Thanksgiving food gifts with over 200 families. Serving together is the best way we build community as we practice being the hands and feet of Jesus. We hope you’ll answer the call to serve.

Phone Team:  Make phone calls to invite and confirm appointments, family size, and more. Phone calls will be made from November 1-18.

Pick-up/Shopping Team: Organizing pick up and packaging of pies, bread, additional shopping items, and other necessary transport.

Organize/Bag Team:  Count and check all brown bags donated to ensure all contain the groceries needed. Numbering/assigning the bags to families. This will be done on Friday, November 18, 6pm – 7:30pm.

Distribution/Greeter Team: This team will be at Warehouse 839 on Saturday, November 19 to distribute food items. Duties are primarily hospitality, and may include greeting families, praying with and for families, and helping with their dinners. We will have two shifts: 8:45am – 11am11am – 1:30pm.

Help clean up and get ready for Sunday.

Bake/Provide Pies: Pumpkin, Apple, or other pies: We expect to serve 200+ families this year. You can purchase a fresh or frozen pie, or provide homemade pie.  Bring pies to church by Friday, November 18.
